Apartment Life, Refined Living

Paul and Anna set out to transform their 4-room BTO unit into a forever home. 
 
They wanted a cosy and restorative place to come to after long work days, yet flexible enough to support a growing family of two children, and comfortable enough to age gracefully in the years ahead.

Built-in Flexibility

Spatial planning was key throughout the home. One example of that was the kitchen island in-built with sliding windows and a swing door, allowing cooking fumes to be contained when needed, while still offering the flexibility to open up the space for hosting and daily interaction. 

Curves in All the Right Places

Aesthetically, our design incorporated visual balance with everyday practicality. We added ample storage to support daily routines, while introducing curved design elements to preserve a sense of openness.

Curves helped conceal ceiling beams, soften the edges of cabinetry, and create a visual flow from room to room.

Personality on Display

Dedicated display areas were allocated to showcase the family’s unique hobbies and collections, without adding visual clutter or disrupting movement through the home. 

Harmony by Design

An additional request was to design the home based around feng shui principles. Notably, each child’s bedroom was planned around their individual lucky colours, ensuring the spaces felt both personal yet harmonious to the overall home design.

Cohesive Yet Individual

Overall, we did our best to cater to the individuality of every household member, while remaining true to visual cohesiveness throughout.

The highest compliment Paul and Anna received was hearing visitors remark that their BTO home feels more like a private condominium than a standard apartment.
